There are plenty of deal-breakers when it comes to relationships, and even what you might think is a little quirk can end up killing a relationship. So if you want to be able to spend time with your partner without constant irritations, consider these four things:
- Netflix Incompatibility. Eventually your relationship will settle down and you’ll be spending time at home watching TV (hopefully together.) If you have totally different tastes, or if you insist on binge-watching something your partner isn’t into – things can fall apart.
- Being bad at sharing: A serious relationship means sharing and constant compromising on your space, food, and even control of your schedule. If you or your partner can’t handle it, there will be problems.
- Missing social cues: If one of you has good social skills and the other doesn’t, it will eventually become awkward at parties and get-togethers, and lead to arguments afterward. If you’re socially awkward, it’s best to date another awkward person.
- Food Incompatibility: Do you enjoy the same kind of food? Do you agree on restaurants? Make sure you’re on the same page about how often to cook versus going out to eat. This will become a huge issue over time.
