After about 10 years since the end of “The Hunger Games” series, the creator of the world, Suzanne Collins is bringing readers back to the country of Panem.

A prequel to the series will be released next year. If you were wondering if you’ll see your favorite characters like Katniss and Peeta, you won’t because the prequel will be set 64 years before the Hunger Games began.

But, in this new novel, you’ll be able to learn more about Panem and its downfall.

Suzanne Collins released a statement talking about the new book, which would be covering the “Dark Days” that failed in Panem.

“With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival,” she said. “The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days — as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet — provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”

Exciting news, Hunger Games fans: A prequel novel set 64 years before the events of The Hunger Games is coming May 2020! Read more here: http://bit.ly/2KWbsMa
