San Francisco Officially Becomes The First Major US City To Ban E-Cigarettes
June 26, 2019 8:18AM PDT
After a unanimous vote by officials on Tuesday, San Francisco will be the first major US city to ban e-cigarettes and its sales.
Those who supported the legislation are hoping it will limit underage use of e-cigarettes.
Critics mentioned that the new ban will make it difficult for adults to purchase alternatives to regular cigarettes.
Popular e-cigarette company Juul Labs from San Francisco, says that they are opposed to underage vaping but said that the new ban will make it difficult for adult users of e-cigarettes to find another alternative aside from regular cigarettes.
Instead of having e-cigarettes completely banned, Juul labs is working on their own ballot that would help regulate e-cigarettes and sales.
