The Fourth of July is going to be kind of awkward this year if you live in San Mateo County.
On Tuesday, the county Board of Supervisors approved to fine anyone in attendance of an illegal fireworks show.
According to the county ordinance, a spectator is defined as someone who is within 200 feet of the display.
You can get fined $500 for a first time offense but if you’re caught again in less than 12 months, it’s a cool grand out of hand.
This is a bummer. But, best advice I can give you if you stay in San Mateo County is either learn to measure out 201 feet or practice doing your best Stevie Wonder impressions.
