SF unanimously approves plan to toll famous street
San Francisco is already considering raising the toll cost on some bridges.
But now, you could be seeing a NEW cost…
If you plan to visit one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
To reduce crowds and traffic, officials announced a bill that would allow San Francisco to start a toll for Lombard Street, one of the city’s most popular attractions. https://t.co/jE4yDqnKIF

According to SFGate, the city council has unanimously approved a plan to charge drivers who want to drive on Lombard Street.
The twisty, winding road, made famous by Thomas Kinkaid, movies, commercials…
It’s one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city.
Now, you’ll have to pay $5 to make the drive.
Which could be $10 on holidays and weekends.
And possibly make an online reservation first.
And still wait for several blocks in backed up traffic through the Russian Hill neighborhood.
Apparently, the city says over 6000 drivers visit the crooked street every day.
Neighbors have complained about the near constant traffic…
Which stretches for blocks and blocks.
Granted… it’s not going into effect until at least 2020…
(The city still needs approval from the state before implementing a new toll)
But still.
Still not the worst thing to cause traffic in SF
Kind of feels like they’re nickel-and-dime-ing us.
