South Bay BART Extension Construction Begins

If you’ll be traveling alongside the heart of downtown San Jose, expect delays because construction of the South Bay BART extension has officially begun.

The areas of E. Santa Clara and N 3rd Streets will have workers, trucks and equipment to get the project going according to VTA and BART.

Major construction of the transit system won’t begin as early as 2020.

The South Bay will have three new underground stations for Alum Rock/28th Street, Downtown San Jose, Diridon and a ground-level station in Santa Clara.
