The Weeknd tempted to “pull a Ye” and change his name
The Weeknd is already working on his next big project.
And it could include a name-change.
According to HypeBeast, Abel Tesfaye tweeted that he’s considering a rebrand.
you guys are hilarious. i feel like i should change my stage name to ABEL at this point lol.

Well, okay, it’s probably mostly a joke.
maybe pull a YE and just legally change my name to ABEL. no last name. Like Madonna or Cher or Prince. I don’t know it seems like a lot.

But Abel isn’t the only singer considering a re-brand.
Last month, Kelly Clarkson had her name legally changed to “Kelly Brianne.”
In the wake of her divorce, she said it was a new name that “more fully reflects who I am”
According to Today.com, she’s still planning to use her stage name “Kelly Clarkson” professionally.
“I don’t think I can change Clarkson at this point. I’m 20 years in!”
